Andrew has worked for 40 years in the Lloyd’s and Company Insurance Markets and has previously worked for a leading Lloyd’s Broker, a Lloyd’s Syndicate, Zurich Insurance Company, and for 20 years prior to joining Caytons at Chubb, where he headed up the US/UK PI claims team managing a team of 8 adjusters. After this role he worked as the Technical Claims Manager for the US/UK PI claims team which involved daily discussions with adjusters, solicitors, brokers, underwriters, and clients.

He has experience in handling Professional Indemnity claims across a wide range of professions and spent a large part of his latter time at Chubb dealing with major lead accounts within the Contractor / Design and Build industry working on Grenfell driven losses. He has a proactive approach to the handling of claims, attempting to resolve them as cost effectively as possible, and regularly appoints panel solicitors where required and working with them to achieve the best outcome for any one matter.

Andrew has also spent a lot of time working with underwriters to assist in the drafting and reviewing of various bespoke professional indemnity policies to ensure that both the content and structure work as fit for purpose. He feels that this is a very important part of the claims process as an early understanding of the intent of policy language is a fundamental part of claims adjusting.
