About Emily Godfrey
Emily obtained a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LLB) degree from the University of Exeter, graduating with Upper Second Class Honours (2:1). During her studies, she volunteered at a pro bono legal clinic, assisting in the provision of legal advice to individuals unable to afford representation.
Emily joined Caytons in April 2025 as a paralegal before commencing her training contract with the firm in July 2025. Alongside her full-time role, Emily is undertaking the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE1 and SQE2) at the University of Law.
Emily works closely with senior fee earners on a wide range of professional indemnity insurance matters, including cases involving architects, contractors, consultants, engineers, and other construction professionals. She also advises on warranty provisions across key professional documents, including appointments, warranties, contracts, and novation agreements. In addition, Emily supports and trains new paralegals and trainee solicitors, teaching them how to carry out warranty advice and providing guidance as they adjust to their roles.
