About Robert Lloyd
Robert has more than thirty years of experience as a solicitor with expertise in dispute resolution relating to insurance, construction, professional negligence, professional conduct, statutory liabilities, reinsurance, and legal costs. He has handled many cases concerning architects’ engineers’ and contractors’ professional and contractual liabilities, often with significant technical dimensions, in a variety of industries including energy and transport. He also has extensive experience in relation to the liabilities of solicitors, brokers, accountants, and actuaries.
Robert has undertaken advocacy in final hearings in the County Court, private arbitrations in adjudications and before professional disciplinary panels in which he has regularly acted for over twenty-five years.
Robert has degrees from Cambridge and UCLA and a post graduate degree from Kings College in strategic studies. He is closely involved in the training of the junior fee earners at Caytons and promoting the understanding of the strategic purposes of litigation is one of his main interests.
Robert also advises on policy coverage, acting in policy disputes, and drafting wordings. He has a long-standing interest in the operation of D & C policies and some other types of insurance cover including reinsurance treaties, contingency insurance, and marine covers. He has lectured to professional audiences on the D & C cover, professional misconduct complaints, and litigation strategy. He has conducted risk audits for insurers.
